We spent most of our days at Ngah Aji's residence in Keriam, Tutong berkumpul with our close family just to memeriahkan the suasana to celebrate and commemorate Azmi and Aziah's wedding. The days and night's were packed with entertainment like Karaoke sessions, ber-mukun sessions, bingo and lucky draw not forgetting the 'unforgettable' POCO-POCO dance performed by our dear aunts, uncles and cousins who had always been good sports :p ... pokoknya banyak lah activities that we've done right up to the day of the "bersanding" itself..it was tiring but well worth it! With the stage well built by Ngah Aji, it was like going to perayaan di padang!! haha.. :p

We hope that everybody truly enjoyed themselves throughout the weeks leading to the persandingan ceremony!! you guys ROCK!! :p

Ngah Aji actually built a stage (good job Ngah!! :p) for us to perform..beats the pentas di padang this year I must say!! :p

A fun-filled and colorful bersanding ceremony was held on the 16th of August 2009 for newlyweds Azmi and Aziah, completed the weeks of festivities for our family.

We did some poco-poco dance in between and traditional dances were also performed. We enjoyed doing all of these for Azmi and Aizah, we hope that we made your day ever more meaningful and unforgettable for years to come. :p

Normas Aizah's berbedak ceremony was filled with laughter as usual..hehe memang jua riuh kalau bekumpul ( an experience that I have come to enjoy and anticipate every time we meet up! :p ) and I bet, sekampung kedangaran keriuhan malam atu. But, I must say, I was a bit worried for Aizah as she was still parading around the house with the heavy 'Si Naga' head-dress having her pictures taken by the hired photographers and of course by me, long after the ceremony ended. ( Ejah kau memang JAGUH begambar!! haha!! :p ). But come to think of it, you girls only have to wear this once in your lifetime. :p

Definasi 'Hangat-hangat tahi ayam' - Melakukan sesuatu hanya pada permulaan lama kelamaan akan di tinggalkan apabila sudah mulai bosan.

So in my case macamana pula? Hehehe..nadalah sampai masuk kategori hangat-hangat tahi ayam atu eh..KO JANGAN~~

Yang banarnya nada kan di gambar bah months belakangan ani, I've been busy meng-upgrade basikal lah. Perayaan tahun ani pun 'manyak' hambar and baru-baru ani pun jerebu melandas and of course the threat of catching Influenza A H1N1 is so menakut kan my trip to KL with Hadi was also cancelled because of this (sigh!) so sebatah-batah ani I've been cooped-up at home.

Tapi, heh ada tapi kali ah..buleh~~ Alhamdulilah, there were a few weddings which I recently attended and took photos of, so I really hope you guys/gals enjoy looking at them as much as I had enjoyed and not to mention was relieved from months of boredom from taking them...

My wife's close friend recently tied the knot and held her Sanding Reception in Asma Hotel, Bandar Seri Begawan on the 2nd day of August 2009. They both met masa Nana studying in Kuala Lumpur, a few years back at the same Universiti...Hehe!

We both doakan both of them, dearest Nana and Hatta lots and lots of blessed married years ahead. Amin..

Another reception will be held sometime in October insyaallah after Hari Raya in Malaysia at Hatta's hometown, the Sambut Menantu Reception which hopefully both me and my wife will be able to attend. :p

We celebrated Asil's Birthday during brunch time at Emperor's Court located on the 3rd floor of HuaHo Manggis Mall last sunday. My wife invited the whole clan, hehe umm I can't seem to be able to elaborate more on the occasion because I'm kinda still full from eating up all of the delicious food!! :p

Anyways, we all hope that Asil had a great time eating up her Winnie the Pooh lemon vanilla cake!!!..emm cos we sure did!! :p

On our last day, my father was feeling a lot better ( got his appetite balik ). We took the family out for a steamboat dinner at a nearby eatery in Batu Tiga, Kuching. The eatery compound, currently co-owned by a chinese and malay restauranteur, consisted of three Halal restaurants.

The Banquet which serves dim-sum and other various chinese dishes, Mus Grill and Lounge served, grilled food ( quite similar to Charcoal in Brunei ) and lastly, After Five, which served barbecued seafood dishes. The great theme is that you can order any of the dishes from all of the three restaurants, at which ever restaurant you choose to dine in.

Since it was a clear night, we chose to dine outside and ordered dishes from Mus Grill and After Five Restaurant. The yummy Steamboat was priced at RM 100 for 4 person, there were eight of us, so we ordered two portions of Steamboat, but when the dish actually came, wow such BIG portion mah, we should have ordered one only. Hahaha.

Mus's Lamb Chops and Cheese Fries portion were big and generous as well. Tapaw balik lah some of the remaining food. :p At least the journey back to Brunei, we won't be so lapar. ( note to self - must try the Dim-Sum next time! ) :p

From Hot Spring to the Spring (hehe!!) the newly opened shopping mall is enormous, the shops are great!!! comprising of outlets from Esprit, MNG, Levi's, M.A.C there's also an Apple Store!! It's all here people..You don't have to travel to KL to enjoy this shopping experience..Just drop by to Kuching lah.. :p The Food Bazaar Area is also filled with restaurants like Secret Recipe, Starbucks, Big Apple Donuts etc..I'm hungry for more!!! :p

Senor Sariff celebrated his birthday ( tak tau le yang ke berapa..pasalnya rahsia!! yea right!! :p ) on Saturday, we all surprised him by spending the night at the Four Points, Sheraton Hotel. My wife had arranged with the Hotel Staff earlier for a complimentary surprise birthday cupcake and fruit ensemble to be put inside their room ( as usual she got her way!! ) . Thanks again Four Points Staff!!!

Hope you had a great birthday Sariff!!! :p

The Hotel also had its grand opening recently, so the stay was very very good. The Deluxe room cost about Rm 235 ++ ( not bad eh, worth every penny ). Guess which hotel in Kuching is our favourite now??? :p

Friday afternoon we went to the Hot Spring, situated in a secluded area in Annah Rais Village, the journey to the Hot Spring area took about 45 minutes by car. On the way, we also passed by Borneo Heights Resort, we didn't have enough time to go there so next time saja lah..:p

The place, to our surprise was well kept and clean. The unpolluted mountain air felt so refreshing, the stream water beside the hot spring was really cool, calm and welcoming. Ahh..so siuk lah..:p

On our next trip to Kuching, we made plans to go to the Hot Spring again, the lady who is in charge of maintaining the place, said that there is a barbeque area near the Hot Spring as well. ( Yay!! I'm so looking foward to our next trip!! :p ) . But, before we headed back home, we stopped by the Bidayuh Longhouse of Annah Rais ( there are no Iban Longhouses in Kuching area, in case you guys were wondering! :p ) and bought some souvenirs from one of the villagers.

I was born and raised in Brunei and my family had just moved back to Kuching about 6 years ago. I do miss being with them but then, the whole family would usually come to Brunei to celebrate Hari Raya, during Sultan's Birthday celebration and sometimes during New Years..

That is the reason why we seldom go back to Kuching, so when we actually do go back, I love riding on my Dad's bike hehe.. as well as admiring my mother's flowers..

On the next day we strolled around Kuching town's Waterfront, the girls shopped a bit at first, then we went on one of the boats and paid the kind man RM 20 for a half hour sightseeing tour. Interesting and saddening facts that I heard from the boatman is that the government has made plans to demolish the old dockyard and wet market area to make way for the new Waterfront Hotel to accommodate the ever growing tourists in Kuching. Out with the old and in with the new eh.. No wonder it was so quiet in Kuching town that day, there were not as many boats near the docks like before, things do change fast around here.. oh well :p

On The Road Again...

Somewhere in Bintulu another 144 km to Sibu!! :p

My wife suggested that we make an emergency road trip to Kuching, after my mother called me up and told me that my father was ill. Jaan and Sariff tagged along since they've never been to Kuching before. Packed a lot of food ( Pop Mie, Keropok and cans of Red Bull ) for the road trip. It took 11 solid hours for 800 km trip to Kuching..( panat J**** ni!!! haha :p , good thing jua Sariff jadi second driver tu, mun inda haha lagi panat!!! :p). Our journey starts in Miri at 8:30 am, and Alhamdullilah sampai at my place at 9:30pm. When we got there I was relieved that father got a little better..Phew!!

We went on Wednesday and stayed till Sunday. We managed to go to a few places of interest. Kuching has been prospering nicely since our last visit there. Pictures of that will be up loaded soon. :p

Sunday morning at 4:30am we made the Journey back to Brunei ( packed with rempeyek, tempoyak and more Pop Mie!! hehe ).

Along the way, there were acres and acres of Sawit Plantation.

I've been having this dilemma for quite sometime now, but I think I found a way around this issue FINALLY!!! Before we headed out to Kuching, sempat jua kami ke Louis Mini Zoo in Tutong...First time there..siuk ada jua mainly because of the big, big Crocs ( not the shoe brand!! haha ) it was fun seeing them eating up a whole chicken..kesiannn ayam atu eh..jadi korban keganasan ish ish ish.. :P

Yang membari kesiannya are the Orang Utans, the mini zookeeper warned us not to get too close to the Orang Utans because they're grumpy and over sensitive..mostly because when visitors came to see them, some of the irresponsible ones kept throwing stuff at them like rocks and other things..We were scared at first because they kept on banging on the steel cages and huffing at us, but when we actually heard the story from the zookeeper, we kinda felt sad for them instead. What trauma must they've endured over the years?? Think about this when you guys look at these photos of them..:P

Sariff and I had nothing better to do while our other half was gossiping from the previous night events in the kitchen... (pompuan will be pompuan!! :p). So we both went to Danau beach and took these almost "ArtfuL" photos. During Nabil and Amir's birthday party, Bedah told us that she has made it through the rigorous placement

interviews and fitness tests, and that she will start her training for her new job in Bandar soon. She told us that she was going to stay at her brother's house for the duration of the training...which was located in Kampung Ayer, Bandar Seri Begawan.

Excited, Sariff and I and of course Wad ( Siapa jua lagi kan ku minta dangankan mengankut barang-barang si Bedah..hahah ) went together to escort Bedah and Amir to her brother's place in Kampung Ayer. Dengan penuh semangat ( sakai lang banarnya..hehe :p ) kami pakai water taxis ke sana..aiseh macam tourist rasanya pasalnya balum pernah ke sana hahaha!!

Happy Birthday Boys!!!

Birthday boys Nabil and Amir 2nd birthday were celebrated by close family last Thursday 26th February at Mum's place in Kuala Belait. My sis made loads of yummy dishes from BBQ chicken and pasta. My wife brought Satay and also made her chicken salad. Nana brought cake , mee goreng and nasi goreng for the event. Since the two boys were born only 2 days apart we thought we might as well celebrate their birthdays together. Nothing fancy with the celebration, we started out with doa selamat for all of our families then we ate and a little while later we played Uno Attack.

The highlight of the night was not the Uno Attack game but it was Farah's antics running around the house in her diaper..hehe :P

Ahn-Nyeong-Ha-Se-Yo!!!

On the last day of the Fisheries Carnival, my wife got a sudden Korean Food binge so she suggested we go and dine at this other Korean Restaurant located in Gadong. Usually we eat at the Koryo Restaurant in Kiulap, where we have been their regulars since 2005.

Since we love trying out new places to eat, bah apa lagi layan eh... :P

The Pines Restaurant actually offers 2 menus: Korean and Japanese. The Korean menu consists of the usual Korean BBQs and Noodles and Soups but they don't serve Ja Jang Myun which is my wife's favourite dish so she suggested that they add that dish in. (here's hoping that they would eventually!! :P). Another favourite Korean dish that my wife loves is the Ginseng Chicken soup (bekarih ia make this dish at home, just like the Ja Jang Myun Noodles as well..hehe). The Japanese menu consists of the normal sushi and sashimi dishes. Nonetheless, both menus are very very very yummy.. :P

So a very big Gam-Sah-Ham-Ni-Da to Pines Restaurant for the wonderful and delicious meal, we will come again!!! ( I think in the next few days..Stomach already grumbling!!! :P)

Last Friday me, the missus and my baby girl Farah Arina dropped by the RTB Carnival just for fun..:P It has been a while since we went out, before doing our grocery shopping we stopped by ICC to have a look see, but we ended up mendulur Farah main arah arcade section haha..oh well :P

What a great 4 days we had during the recent Fisheries Carnival 2009. This year marks the the 7th year for the annual event that was set up and co-ordinated by the Fisheries Department of Brunei Darussalam.

The sole purpose of the event is to showcase and promote local businesses and products. 16,000 people came to support the 4 days event regardless of the situation that had engulfed most of Brunei's households, that had caused damage to properties due to flash floods, caused by heavy and continued rainfall in the state.

Every year our company participated in the event in hopes that the public will support our product ( we rear and sell Mexican Blue Shrimps ) which, to this day is mainly focused for local consumption through the local middlemen. This year my wife 'turun padang' to sell off the shrimps, and she gave a 2 days sample tasting of our shrimps which everybody loved. Although we were really tired from selling 4 days straight but, I just have to say that it was the best 4 days of 2009 for me :P and to my surprise and relief the amount of support given was better than I had expected.

So I would like to sincerely thank the people who were involved..you know who you are hehehe and WE WILL DEFINITELY SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!!! :p

Finally, the Majlis Persandingan is about to commence, geng Jati Racing Team ani nervous udah masa ani.. bukan nervous apa inda lagi sabar for all the acara to be over so that he can start honeymooning with his beautiful wife..

This is my first time taking wedding pictures and it is not easy as it looks, I need more practice actually but Allhamdullilah the pictures turned out okay, inda jua nyaman rasaku tu kalau inda lawa gambar kahwin kawan sendiri.. :P

At exactly 9:00 am, 27th December 2008 marks as an auspicious day for Abu Bakar a.k.a Wad, yeah nikah tia geng tani udah...Sudah sah bergelar suami isteri, penantian sudah habis..hehe :P. Here's some pictures I took of Wad's majlis akad nikah which was held at the main mosque in Labuan.

We had a few days to go about Labuan before Wad's wedding so we've pre-booked 2 Toyota Avanza rental cars ( the roomiest car that you can rent in Labuan ). The roads in Labuan is pretty easy to navigate with the help of a map! :P, I highly recommend that for your next Labuan trip do rent a car, instead of using the taxi service there because it is just so much easier and more fun if you do so, I got so much more out of the whole trip just by driving around with the rental which cost around RM 170 per day ( harga boleh runding ) :P.

My wife and I drove the gang way up to Pantai Pohon Batu which was near the Manikar Beach Resort. We didn't do anything much besides just ronda-ronda around Labuan Island and also feasting on seafood at Mawilla Yacht Club.

Labuan AGAIN!!!

A few days before 2009, we went to Labuan for Abu Bakar a.k.a Wad's wedding, finally resah dan gundahnya akan berahkir hehe :P

With everything packed and the house checked and locked properly, awal-awal pagi sudah kami ke terminal di Muara to catch the earliest ferry out or so we thought. We tried to book tickets awal but the day before was Christmas so all of the counters were closed, we took a chance to buy the next day instead,Hmmphh!!:P

Sekali sampai di terminal atu ramainya jelama di sana..so silly of us thinking there wouldn't be a lot of people on the 26th December going to Labuan..banyak kali ah Pare-Pare kan balik ke Negeri asal durang. All ferries going to Labuan for the next few hours were full! Uwaaaa!!! :P

So kami stranded di Muara Terminal dari pukul 6 pagi till about 1 ptg. The excitement going to Labuan was gone, my wife and Ammirul was sleeping here and there like a total bum!! But baik jua dapat seats for the 1:30 pm ferry Duta Muhibah II phew!! Labuan HERE WE COME!!!

Tidur saja tah beh, lama lagi kan sampai ni..:P

This shot was malam kami barbeque d rumah with my friends...last minute gathering suggested by my wife. Just one night having fun lepak-lepak with friends sebelum new year. Semalaman memarinade daging and ayam...yum yum nyaman!!!

One fine Sunday afternoon, just for fun, we decided to go to Labi, Kuala Belait at a place called Wasai Wong Kadir... my wife was too lazy to go.. hehe sorry chebebeh,rugi chamu inda ikut leee :p...so it was just the five of us..Mirul, Joy, Jaan and Sariff and me semestinya :p ... jauh jua lah tempatnya, I think we all sampai sana around 2pm or 3pm...the place was really beautiful all the more reason to try out my camera. BUT actually hehe ceritanya awal we actually went there sudah the day before, just us guys, kes memandai haha.. we got there terlampau ahir and ada benda yang takutkan tarus tah kami balik pasal dengar macam-macam bunyi...eiii seram bulu roma lah :P So we decided to go there awal-awal the next day...Pheww!!! Allhamdulilah nada apa-apa kejadian yang inda di ingini berlaku...kan fun, fun jua tapi mesti beringat kalau ke tempat yang macam ani lah geng..:p

Still a longgg way to go..n the only way to go is UP!! :p

Raya Di Bekenu

With only 2 days left before my family returns to Kuching, we decided to beraya to Bekenu at my grandpa's house. He remarried a while back, and it has been a while since we all jengok him. Before, there was no road access to his place and we had to cross a small river to go to his house but now roads have been constructed, it's waay more accessible!!! So off we went on Saturday, the 3rd day of Syawal 1429H.

We woke up quite late..hehe. The plan was to go around 9am, but we started the journey at about 10.30am instead. We didn't have any breakfast yet... ( Farah had hers already, because she usually wakes up earlier than the rest of us! ).

It took us almost 3 hours to reach to his place, the scenery was great, the weather was great...unfortunately, kami LAPAR!!!! hehe :P

Grandpa has lots of stuff at his place, I mean lots..he may be old but I admire his strength...ia bekebun buah, sayur you name it.. it's all there.

This is just one of his hobbies, memelihara burung, he's such an avid fan of birds.

When we arrived biasalah, Farah and Shapul bermain sampai buka baju.. and merah padam muka. Kids will be kids I guess.

But we were all sooo lapar that time, but Grandpa knew we were coming so ia masak macam-macam from sambal petai, to kerang sedut comlipents from his garden and the river in from of his house.

My wife and I rode around on my Grandpa's motorcycle..kampong style! She's usually scared to go on motorcycles, but after a few tries, she got the hang of it and now she decides to buy one for us to 'cruise-cruise' in Keramut.

Before we left we took some family pictures..wow! I didn't realize that there were a lot of us sudah..hehe. Grandpa as usual sempat bagi petai, and coconut muda for us to bring back.

All and all, it was a fun day...would be more fun if durang Alus ( my cousin ) could have made the trip with us..but too bad for them.. and more fun for us!! :P

Raya Di Keriam

This year's Raya my wife and I celebrated dengan kesederhanaan and juga penuh keshyukuran. To be able to still celebrate with our dear loved ones ( friends and family alike ) on such an auspicious day (1st Syawal) is truly a blessing, no doubt... and I gladly say Allhamdulilah ya Allah!!

After K.B we had our Hari Raya Brunch yang di sediakkan oleh my dad, a chef that we imported from Kuching, hehe with our workers at the kolam. Then we went to Tutong for a Satay Feast catered by Nini Tutong.Ngah Aji and family weren't there when we arrived ( almost 2pm baru tah kan sampai arah Nini), because on the way there we got stuck at the photo studio in Pekan Tutong...hehe ambil family photo since my mom, dad, sis and lil' bro came over, ramai orang di sana so we had to wait.....shucks! Although inda sempat beraya to most of our relatives still jua meriah lah!!

My Lastest Craze

I started early this year with my partner in crime Asapai Wad (who by the way is getting married this December 26th ... hehe time birthday Ambuk mercu kesayangan kami, Ammirul Rizal), and I am HOOKED!!! Had a few 'accidents' now and then but inda kira pasalnya SIOK kali ah!!!

I trained almost everyday using the DANAU track gained new friends along the way. But during Ramadhan slow down sikit pasal puasa but now I am back on the road again!

Just bought my new 'Baby' sometime in September on our last trip to Singapore..Frame nya saja sudah membari putus nyawa harganya. My wife picked the colour. Lain-lain component saya beli di Miri and a few di Singapore jua. Rasanya inda sabar kan balik Brunei, once I bought the final piece a.k.a the bike frame. Putting it all together took 4 SOLID hours and all I can say is saya sungguh-sungguh BERBANGGA!!! haha nada wah... :P Happy drooling everyone!

Syawal 1429H ani is the first time that my family came from Kuching to celebrate Raya in Brunei. So going down to Miri Airport to fetch them was well worth it!! And we had a chance to celebrate with with my grandfather in Bekenu together (will ceta-ceta in another post...yaaa sabar dulu), something that jarang2 sekali kami buat..so yaaay for us this year.

After bersalam-salaman with my parents. As usual we went to K.B to bersalam-salam with my other mom! She took real good care of me when I was younger and didn't know better and I love her very much...My Bro-in law Sarifful was not able to join us that day....duuiii kesian that's why my sis Jaan takde mood kan beraya..maklumlah newlyweds sentiasa kan BEKAPIT!!! telampau..hahaha :P
